In his 20+ years of practice, Joe has extensive experience litigating cases in the realm of construction, construction defect, real estate, insurance, subrogation/contribution, products liability, franchisor liability, trade secrets/copyright, medical malpractice, personal injury, professional liability, and premises liability. Joe has assisted clients both in defending against frivolous claims and in prosecuting legitimate ones – this experience on both sides of the table is invaluable to the Firm and its clients, providing real-world perspective that is often overlooked or ignored at other firms. In addition to settling countless cases on terms favorable to his clients, Joe has also performed the role of mediator/neutral evaluator for other matters, successfully bringing about an end to contentious and difficult matters. Where settlement is not possible, Joe has been incredibly successful at prevailing at trial and binding arbitration, having saved his clients from tens of millions of dollars in asserted liability and likewise recovering millions on behalf of his clients against others. Joe is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts throughout California.
Joe obtained his undergraduate degree in 1991 from the University of California at Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Thereafter, he attended and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine School of Law in 1994. Joe is an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, and family man – he also sits on the Board of Directors for the Serrano Country Club after having previously served on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento SPCA.
